Poems are “skullmagic”, said the poet Thomas Kling. And poems unfurl this magic especially when one hears them, according to a growing number of readers and listeners. But is it really true that poems must be spoken? Or does it depend above all on how poems are spoken? What happens to the poem, when it is delivered by the voice – what happens to the listeners? This year’s colloquium revolves around the poem as spoken event.
